Robert L. Young earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Illinois College of Law, with a notation of pro bono for public service, and in October of 2013 became a member of The Florida Bar.
Young’s practice concentrates in the marital and family law area. Many of his cases are considered high-conflict, as the acting attorney for certain children in the Guardian Ad Litem Program of the 12th Circuit.
Young assisted in launching a guardian ad litem pilot program, in 2014, in the 12th Circuit court for children’s cases involving high-conflict custody and divorce.
Since 2013, Mr. Young has worked on over 70 pro bono cases, donating more than 500 hours.
He holds memberships with the Sarasota County Bar Association (SCBA), the SCBA Family Law Section, The Florida Bar Family Law Section, and the 12th Circuit’s Pro Bono Committee. Mr. Young serves on the SCBA Young Lawyers Division board.
Additionally, Young serves as the Sarasota Young Professionals Group board chair, a division of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.
